Manzi lives in the Ngeruka Sector with his grandmother. Although he has both parents, they left him in her care. The family lives in a poor house with no land of their own. The grandmother occasionally rents land to cultivate, but the harvest must be shared with the landowner. They struggle to afford food and clothing, but they manage to raise goats for additional support. Manzi enjoys studying and is eager to continue his education.
