Leica lives in the Kamabuye Sector with her mother and siblings, having moved from Kigali. They currently stay with relatives in Kamabuye. The family's relocation was prompted by the father’s imprisonment in 2020. He was once a nurse, but after committing some crimes, he was incarcerated, leaving the family without means to survive. The mother has no stable job but occasionally earns small amounts by washing clothes for others. She also suffers from high blood pressure, which adds to the strain. While their relatives provide some support, it is not enough to meet their basic needs. The family struggles to afford food, schooling, and other essentials. Despite these hardships, Leica excels in school, but she urgently needs support to continue her education.
