Valerie lives in the Ngeruka Sector with her mother and two grandparents. They don’t have their own house and share a home with her grandparents. Valerie’s father lives in Burundi, and they have no communication with him. The family has a small plot of land, but it’s not enough to produce food for their needs. Valerie’s mother and grandmother both struggle with mental health challenges, and none of them are employed. Only her grandfather works hard to provide for the family. Despite these difficulties, Valerie excels in school and has a strong passion for studying.
