Jean Claude lives in the Kamabuye Sector with his mother and siblings. Before moving to Kamabuye, they lived in Kayonza District. The father left them to marry another woman and does not provide any support. The mother is responsible for caring for all the children on her own, working as a laborer to make ends meet. They do not own a house but they rent a small, run-down one. Without land to farm, they struggle to grow their own food. The mother faces great difficulty in feeding the children and supporting their education. Despite these challenges, Jean Claude performs well in school but needs significant support to continue his studies.
