Callixte lives in the Kamabuye sector with his paternal grandmother. His father died in 2018. After his death, Callixte stayed with his mother and his 4 siblings. The mother was an alcoholic and unable to take care of all her children. This negatively impacted Callixte’s and his siblings’ life. Callixte’s aunt decided to take him from his mom and move him to his grandma’s house, where he gets more support and care. Once he arrived at his grandmother’s home, Callixte started school again, was able to wash well, and eat well.  His grandmother is very old but she helps him a lot. There is still conflict between the grandmother and the mother. The mother wants to take Callixte back from his grandmother’s house but the grandmother accuses the mother of being irresponsible.. The mother was advised to seek advice from local leaders about this case.
